This game is a variation on the medieval Game of the Goose.  Game of the Goose was invented in Florence, Italy at the time of Francesco de Medici during the late 16th century.  He sent a copy to Philip II of Spain as a gift.  It reached England and was entered in the Stationers’ Register by John Wolfe as ‘the newe and most pleasant game of the Goose’ on June 16, 1597.  Not long after, variations with different themes began to appear.  I have created this variation with a hunting theme.
